Organised Fremantle girl fight caught on camera, two teenagers charged with aggravated robbery
Footage has emerged of confronting scenes of a violent fight between school girls in Fremantle — some as young as 13 years old.
The fight didn’t happen on school grounds, but most of the young students were in school uniforms.
WA Police Minister Michelle Roberts said she believed the parents were failing those involved.
In the vision obtained by 7NEWS, the girls can be seen throwing punches and are encouraged to keep going at it.
One girl who pleads for the fight to stop ends up having her head stomped on.
The fight happened on Essex Street in Fremantle on Wednesday, with the girls involved from two separate schools, one from Fremantle College.
Ms Roberts described the vision as “highly disturbing”.
“This isn’t just skylarking. Serious injuries can occur when this kind of thing happens and it also has a mental health impact on the individuals involved,” she said.
“If your children are getting up to this, I personally don’t think you’re providing them with appropriate care.”
The Department of Education said there was not a fight club at the school but the girls involved were already serving suspensions and were known to police.
The person who sent the vision to 7NEWS said these sorts of organised fights happened in Fremantle at least once a week.
Police have charged two teenagers with aggravated robbery. They are accused to stealing another girl’s mobile phone.
