Denmark's Castelli Estate has announced legendary Australian band Icehouse will perform one of two special summer gigs at the winery in January.

The ARIA hall of famers will play at Castelli Estate on Friday January 8, and Rottnest Island on January 10, with the gigs to coincide with the release of their first-ever live album.

The release of live album Icehouse: In Concert is another milestone for one of the country's music mainstays, who have released 28 platinum albums and renowned singles including unofficial Australian anthem Great Southern Land, Electric Blue and Hey Little Girl, across their 35-year career.

The announcement continues the winery's reputation of attracting big name music acts which have included John Butler Trio and Jimmy Barnes with Jon Stevens in 2013 and The Waifs in 2011.

The Estate's Adam Castelli said the winery wanted to bring a major act to the region annually and keep the concerts an intimate affair.

"We keep trying to do that every year and we get the community behind it," he said.
