Top drops and fine fashion on menu
The Grapes and Gallops festival is returning to Mt Barker Turf Club this Sunday.
Attracting a crowd of more than 2000, the meet is an evening featuring country racing, fashions on the field, local premium wine and local food, and is a great day out for the family.
Under the big tent, racegoers will be able to sample wines from nine Mt Barker producers including Arcadia, Galafrey, Gilberts, West Cape Howe, Plantagenet Wines, and Hawkers Ridge.
A range of regional produce will be available including fresh cherries and strawberries, French pastries, local cheeses, stuffed potatoes, gourmet pizzas and freshly shucked Albany oysters.
Grapes and Gallops is the biggest social event on the Mt Barker Turf Club’s calendar.
This exciting race day features a nine-race program and includes one of the Great Southern’s richest races, the $100,000 Mungrup Stud Sprint over 1300m. Grapes and Gallops is a family affair with a bouncy castle, Lions train rides and clowns.
