Jerramungup's St John Ambulance sub-centre is the best in the State.

Picture by Con Tsapazi: St John State Council chairman Gerard King presents Jerramungup sub-centre’s Glen Hall with the award for sub-centre of the year.

The sub-centre was named the St John Ambulance Sub-Centre of the Year on Saturday, August 26, at a function held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Jerramungup sub-centre, which includes sub-branches at Wellstead, Bremer Bay and Gairdner, was one of six named as finalists for the award from 110 sub-centres in WA.

St John Ambulance chief executive Tony Ahern said despite more than 200km of road network separating the sub-branches, the Jerramungup sub-centre had been successful in ensuring all branches stayed connected.

“The sub-centre is an example of how geographically challenged communities can positively link together for a common interest and better serve the wider community as a collective,” Mr Ahern said.
