Driver crashes into Albany hotel
A 30-year-old driver was taken to hospital after crashing into the Premier Hotel on Saturday afternoon.
Police say the driver was turning left on to Grey Street from the York Street roundabout just after 3pm when he lost control of his Holden Commodore.
Acting officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Nathan Parkey said it was alleged the man’s foot slipped from the brake onto the accelerator as he attempted to turn.
The car crashed through bollards and into the alfresco dining area of the hotel.
Two glass panels on the corner of dining area were shattered but no patrons were in the area.
The man was treated for facial injuries by St John Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to hospital.
