Dumbleyung photographer Josh Ball said it was pure luck he had the chance to capture these stunning images of two kangaroos coming to blows.

Mr Ball was on his way home from Dunsborough last weekend when he saw the kangaroos standing tall, locked in a fistfight.

“I was driving home from Dunsborough at 5.30am and looked to my left and saw the kangaroos up on their back legs fighting and my first thought was — camera, now,” he said.

“I have never seen two kangaroos fighting so I parked my car and ran out to where they were.

“I managed to frantically put my 70-200mm telephoto lens on and kneel down to try get low to the ground to feel like I was peeking at them and I grabbed a few shots while they were still fighting.”

“Literally after I took a couple photos they got spooked and hopped off. I got very lucky.”

The photos have gained traction online and gathered hundreds of likes.
