Denmark Carols by Candlelight will be back this Sunday by popular demand.

Despite funding issues encountered earlier this month, Denmark carols volunteer committee member Amy Franz said a local business had stepped up to get the carols back this December.

“Graham and Kelly Howard, the main directors for VHM Limited were quite disappointed that their kids couldn’t attend the carols this year,” she said.

“So they decided to fund the event and all the gold coin donations from the carols will go to support Gumnut Corner, a non-profit community-based care centre in Denmark.”

Ms Franz said the carols would be hosted at Berridge Park this year and there would be entertainment and food stalls for everyone to enjoy.

“There will be local performers and singers and Santa will be arriving by boat at 7pm to greet the children,” she said.

“Ashleigh Crock and Tracey Morrison will also be performing.

“The Denmark Scouts will also be there to serve some hot dogs and sausage rolls.”

Ms Franz said Albany carollers were welcome to join the festivities, which attracted more than 1500 people last year.

“We know that Albany carols got cancelled last weekend, so hopefully there might be some carollers from Albany coming this way to celebrate Christmas together,” she said.
