The combined artistic efforts of the community will be washed away from the walls of the Albany Town Hall’s gallery this weekend after a hugely popular interactive art experience.

Initially planned as a five-week opportunity for the community to fill the gallery’s walls, the event proved so popular at the start of the holiday period that it took little more than a week before they were full.

The event was kickstarted by local creatives adding the first elements to the wall during a networking event on December 13 so that the public would not face a daunting blank canvas.

Visitors to the gallery over the ensuing week needed little more encouragement than that as they rapidly filled every reachable corner of the gallery walls with a variety of creative and imaginative illustrations.

The covered walls caused a rethink of the exhibition over its final few weeks, with visitors than encouraged to complete an activity sheet by finding several notable elements among the array of creations.
