With the support of the Denmark Shire Council, former CEO David Schober has altered his letter of resignation with his last day as Shire CEO changed to May 19.

Previously, his last day was set to be July 11.

The Shire called a special meeting to consider Mr Schober’s variation request because he had been asked to start his new role early — a “dream job” with the Denmark Senior High School basketball program.

Stepping into Mr Shober’s shoes temporarily is deputy CEO and director of assets and sustainable development David King.

Mr Shober expressed his thanks to the council and the community.

“I would like to thank Shire staff, councillors and the community for their support whilst I have been CEO and wish the council the very best in selecting a new CEO,” he said.
