Caledonians remain undefeated in Great Southern Soccer Association division one competition

Caledonians have continued their dominant season in the Great Southern Soccer Association men’s division one competition, netting four goals in their victory against Bayswater on Saturday.

Despite missing some key personnel, Caledonians dominated possession and controlled the match, running away with a 4-0 win at the final whistle.

The top side skipped out to a handy 3-0 lead at halftime and coasted to a ninth consecutive win to remain undefeated in 2023.

Calvin Bosch, Doug Grant, Nathan Kay and Oliver Trichilo all hit the scoresheet, while the young trio of Riley Marsh, Sam Jeffery and Harrison Smith provided great run off the bench.

Trent Eikelboom was named player of the match.

Polonia slumped to a sixth loss as Rovers edged past them in a 2-1 triumph.

Joseph Jaruel hit the back of the net for Rovers and Dylan Burrow scored for Polonia.

A cruel own goal to Polonia proved the difference in the Rovers’ eighth win of the season.

Stirling Rangers forfeited their match against Phoenix.

In men’s division two, Rovers put five past Polonia as Archer Gordon bagged a brace.

Thomas Musk, Oliver Chetwin and Matt Owen found the back of the net, with Richard Menzies the sole scorer for Polonia in the 5-1 result.

The Bayswater and Caledonians match was a forfeit.

Mt Barker remain in pole position to secure back-to-back titles in the women’s division competition after defeating rivals Denmark 3-2 in round 10 on Friday.

Rovers thumped Polonia 9-0, Sharks were 2-0 winners over Sonics and Phoenix edged past Caledonians.

In women’s division two, Caledonians cruised to a 9-0 win over Bayswater, Polonia were 4-1 victors over Rovers and Stirling Rangers defeated Sharks 3-0.

Phoenix got on top over Denmark Rezzies and Denmark Carnaby’s settled for a one-all draw with Mt Barker.
