VideoIt was a massive finish to the season at Champion Lakes.

Just quietly, that might have been one of the more action-packed weekends of the year on Streamer. Don’t know about you, but we’re still recovering.

You had NSW state records being smashed left, right and centre all weekend at the Little Athletics NSW Hart Sport State Track & Field Championships. There was Izobelle Lousion-Roe breaking her own long jump mark, there were the three podium finishers all breaking the previous record in the girls U14 3000m, and Isaac Beacroft claiming records in the U17 3000m and 1500m. Not too shabby.

In Perth, you had Hale School claiming the honours at an epic PSA WA Head of the River event, capping off one of the more event seasons in recent history.

There was action aplenty in the pool, with school spirit on display at the AAGPS NSW Swimming Championships, and great swims in every lane at the Swimming WA Aqua Technics Junior State Championships.

The NPL WA women’s Night Series was decided on Saturday amid a thrilling weekend of local football across the board, in multiple different codes too.

And going right back to last Friday, the WA Netball League continues to offer up some unbelievable action live from the Gold Centre.

BACK TO BACK

We’ve been rolling out the Streamer Snacks highlights all WA Premier Cricket season and there is no bigger highlight than this – congratulations to Perth Cricket Club for taking out the 2023/24 premiership. That’s back- to-back flags for a club which has risen like a phoenix over the past few years. The grand final in the two-day comp was over in one as Ethan Carrington took out man-of-the-match honours with his six wickets. What a club, what a season!

TRACK & FIELD BRILLIANCE

Little Athletics NSW put on an event that had everyone smiling at Sydney Olympic Park, with a massive three days of action across two tracks. We mentioned a few star performers above but honestly, there were so many outstanding performances that you’re going to want to dive back in and check them out yourself. Watch the Hart Sports State Track & Field Championships all on demand at your leisure.

FALCONS REALLY FLYING

Most of the WAFL Women’s competition were pleased to see West Perth up and about early this season as one of the newer sides in the comp. They are not so pleased anymore. The Falcons sent a serious message on the weekend after pumping South Fremantle by 46 points. West Perth remain unbeaten on the top of the ladder as a result, setting up a huge game in two weeks’ time against the other unbeaten side, Claremont. It was something to behold.

RED GO AHEAD

Perth RedStar owned the women’s NPL WA last year and it looks like they are ready to dish out more of the same. The merged club took out the NPL WA Women’s and Hyundai Women’s League Night Series deciders at the weekend in a memorable evening for the club. RedStar also got off the mark in the NPL WA Men’s season with a 2-1 win over Balcatta Etna.
