Great Southern Football League officially launch 2022 season at Retravision Stadium

The Great Southern Football League officially launched their 2022 season at Retravision Stadium on Monday night.

Denmark-Walpole were not present at the event but representatives from five other clubs attended to give a brief message previewing their aims goals for 2022. the season.

Last year’s grand final winning teams were presented with their official premiership flags at the event.

GSFL president Terry Eaton made an season address to all the clubs present and Claremont board member Darrell Panizza spoke about the Great Southern’s fantastic representation across the Claremont Football Club.

The Game Cricket 2024-25

Umpire advisor Ryan Tindale also spoke at the event, outlining the importance of improving attitudes towards those officiating the game and slight rule tweaks ahead of the new season.

A member of headspace Albany also attended and spoke to the crowd about promoting mental health and well-being among clubs while detailing the importance of de-stigmatising mental health issues in the community.

The GSFL season officially starts next week with the first two league fixtures being played on Saturday April 23 at 2.30pm.

The third league game is the feature of the opening weekend with the traditional Anzac Day clash between North Albany and Railways at 2.30pm on Monday April 25.
