West Coast Eagles pre-listed midfielder Mikayla Bowen has been announced as one of three West Australians named in the AFLW Under-18 All Australian team.

Selected from this year’s national championships, Bowen was named in the midfield, while first-round prospects Roxy Roux and Mim Strom were also named in the 22.

Bowen, who was named WA’s best and fairest, averaged more than 19 disposals (12 contested) seven tackles and four clearances to be one of the best players of the tournament.

East Fremantle’s Roux also impressed as a key forward, averaging 10 disposals, two contested marks and three inside 50s a game.

Strom, the sister of South Fremantle big men Noah and Zac, was one of the surprise packets of the competition, dominating in the ruck for WA.

The 17-year-old averaged 24 hit-outs a game, combining well with Bowen in the midfield.
