Oscar Pistorius is reportedly dating a blonde woman who looks just like the girlfriend he murdered.

The disgraced Paralympian, 38, served nine years in jail for shooting Reeva Steenkamp at his home in South Africa in 2013.

Less than a year after his release, he has found love with Rita Greyling, 33, a business management consultant and a long term family friend, according to a South African newspaper.

Sources close to the pair have confirmed that Pistorius and Ms Greyling are in a relationship but details are being kept private.

Pistorius – called Blade Runner because of the prosthetics he wore to compete – faced a huge public backlash when he was granted parole in January, still insisting that he killed law graduate and model Ms Steenkamp, 29, by mistake.

Ms Greyling’s family made headlines in 2022 when her brother Ghini was involved in an incident at a countryside sports lodge when a man drowned in a river during a bachelor party.

A year later, police said the death of 29-year-old Willem Kruger, initially seen as an accident, was being treated as murder.

Friends said the tragedies surrounding the families drew together Pistorius and Ms Greyling, from Wakkerstroom in the east of South Africa.

The romance is said to mark a new start for Pistorius after he was freed into the care of his millionaire uncle Arnold.

The former runner now lives in a cottage in the grounds of his uncle’s fortified mansion in Pretoria.

A source close to Pistorius said: “He is trying to rebuild his life in a low-key way and avoids bars and restaurants and the general public and is flying under the radar.

“He is slowly trying to reintegrate into society but that is being done through families that his family have been close for decades.”

Pistorius is also doing volunteer work at a Dutch Reform Church nearby where he cleans and sweeps.

Upon hearing the reports of the new relationship, Ms Steenkamp’s mother June warned that Pistorius “still has issues with anger”.

Speaking to The Sun, the 78-year-old said: “I don’t understand how she doesn’t see a red flag about him because he has not lost his temper problem.”

Friends say the former runner is having problems finding work as employers see him as “toxic”.

On the night of the shooting, Pistorius claimed he woke in the early hours and feared a burglar was breaking in, unaware Ms Steenkamp was in the bathroom.

He repeatedly fired shots through the door and her family has always maintained the killing was intentional.
