The Town Square will resemble a childhood fantasy in a celebration of mental wellness at 10am next Friday, October 9.

In support of Hat Day Albany, local mental health service providers have joined forces to host a Mad Hatter's Tea Party and are urging the public to wear quirky headgear to help initiate conversations about mental health.

Headspace Albany manager Andrew Wenzel said the Tea Party would include a range of fun activities to promote positive mental health, reduce stigma and provide information about local mental health providers.

"It's an opportunity for people to have some fun and to find out what services are available," he said.

"By talking about mental health we can break down barriers to people accessing support and information.

"It's all about being part of a community and getting involved."

Profits from the day will be donated to Headspace Albany, Kids Central Great Southern, Depression Support Network Albany and Australian Rotary Health.
