Re-discover local destination
Albany residents are being offered a free local pass to Discovery Bay as part of a new initiative to reconnect people with the historic site.
The passes, which are valid for the entire Discovery Bay site, are available from participating cafes and restaurants, including Cosi's Cafe, Dome, Dylan's on the Terrace, Emu Point Cafe, Kate's Place, Three Anchors, the White Star and Boston Brewery.
General manager Phillip Cox said the passes were a way of re-engaging with the local community and encouraging them to reconnect with the City's history.
"What we are trying to do is get the locals back here," he said.
"We want the Albany people to become custodians of what is a unique site … Albany has something that no one else has got.
"Albany people should be proud of that and be able to come over here and enjoy the site."
Mr Cox said hopefully the card and the opening of the revamped Gap and Natural Bridge sites would help to extend visitor staying times in Albany.
"And the good thing about the passes is they have to support local business to get them," he said.
