Perth Royal Show: Cutest snaps show family fun kicking off
For kids like Bodhi Pollard, a cuddle with cute baby farm animals is the best part of the Perth Royal Show.
The four-year-old got a special sneak peek of the animal nursery on Friday, before the Show opened Saturday morning.
Bodhi said his favourite animals were the chickens and rabbits because they “love him”.
“I love them because they love me,” he said. “I also cuddled with the alpacas.”
It will be little Bodhi’s second year visiting the show with his mother Gemma, who says he is bursting with excitement for the bonanza.
Thousands of families have started flocking to the Claremont Showgrounds for the plethora of fun-filled rides, show bags and entertainment.
Premier Roger Cook opened the Show on Saturday, telling reporters it’s an “important event for families”.
“It’s a rite of passage. We can all remember coming to the Royal Show as kids,” he said.
“These thing are such important events and such an important part of growing up and spending time with your family.
He said the government’s $5.2 million subsidised ticket scheme this year had already proven to be “hugely popular”.
“We’re expecting the biggest numbers at the Show this year, in 10 years,” Mr Cook said.
“And of course, the most important thing of all — the Bertie Beetle Bag is back.”
The Royal Show will run from September 21 to 28.
