Denmark police have seized their biggest haul of cannabis in at least four years, estimated to be worth $60,000, after executing a search warrant on a Shadforth property last week.

A father and son were charged last Thursday after officers from Denmark, Walpole and Albany searched the home on South Coast Highway, allegedly uncovering 5.6kg of cannabis material and 56 plants ranging from seedlings close to 2m tall.

Detectives from the Proceeds of Crime Squad were also called in and a freezing notice was issued on the residence, pending further investigation.

A 56-year-old man was charged with cultivating a prohibited plant with intent to sell or supply and permitting premises to be used for drug manufacture, while his 26-year-old son was also charged with cultivation with intent to sell or supply and possessing cannabis with intent to sell or supply.

Both will make their first appearance in Albany Magistrate's Court on February 26.

Another son, a 29-year-old, is expected to face court at later date charged with drug offences.

Denmark police officer-in-charge Sergeant Andrew Dunn said while inquiries were continuing, the 5.6kg of cannabis had an estimated street value of $60,000, without taking into account the plants seized.

"Of all the significant busts we have had, this is the most significant in terms of cannabis quantity," he said.

"Obviously this will make a significant dent and this amount of drugs removed from the community can only be a good thing."
