Talented Albany cricketer Samara Williams continues to be recognised as one of the most promising female talents in the country after being announced as the recipient of Cricket Australia's 2015 Female Indigenous Scholarship.

The 18-year-old all-rounder, who will continue her push to represent her State for the Western Fury in the future, was one of two recipients of the scholarship confirmed by CA last week.

Williams was awarded a 2013 WACA Female Scholarship as she begun to focus fully on cricket, before earning a 2014 CA Female Indigenous Scholarship.

The young all-rounder, who represented Royals in the under-17 competition before moving to Perth, has competed at the past two Imparja Cups and under-18 Female National Championships for WA and is part of the Western Fury development squad.

She impressed at the recent Imparja Cup, helping WA improve on their winless tournament in 2014, scoring 44 runs, taking two wickets to go with one catch and two run-outs across the four matches

Williams will attend the Australian Under-18 Talent Camp at the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane from September 24 to 27.

The camp will be overseen by former Southern Stars coach Cathryn Fitzpatrick.
