A truck has rolled on the Tonkin Highway — forcing the closure of one lane and banking up east-bound traffic.

The incident happened on Wednesday around 6.15am, when a truck rolled on the highway just past the Albany Highway entry in Gosnells.

The right lane heading east was closed by emergency services after the truck rolled onto the verge, before being reopened just before 7am.

It is understood nobody was trapped inside the vehicle.

Police, paramedics and firefighters remained at the scene on Wednesday morning.

Main Roads urges early-morning commuters to drive with caution as motorists may be out of their vehicles.

The area is heavily congested and delays are expected.
