SWFL 2023: SWFL holds AGM at Payne Park, raft of topics discussed
The South West Football League held its annual general meeting at Payne Park on Thursday.
There was only one change to the league’s executive, with Joanne Hill replacing Scott Jones. Barry Tate will continue as president, with Gary Bock remaining as vice-president.
With general public and media not permitted to attend the meeting, SWFL general manager Jason Crowe provided some insight into how things transpired.
Aside from John Vidos and Bob Hislop both receiving SWFL life membership, discussion surrounding the start and finish of the 2024 season was outlined.
In a draft fixture provided to clubs, it is proposed the season will be shortened and start on April 20, with the grand final held on October 6.
The South Western Times’ request to view a copy of the SWFL’s balance sheet and financial data over the past year was declined.
“The financials of the SWFL are for members only,” Crowe said.
