A man allegedly made aggressive and sexually graphic comments to a female crew member during a Gold Coast-bound flight.

An airline alerted the Australian Federal Police to a man who was allegedly making aggressive and sexually graphic comments to a female crew member on the evening of September 26 this year.

Police met the flight when it landed at Gold Coast Airport and interviewed the Surfers Paradise man.

The 41-year-old was then arrested and charged with one count of acting in offensive manner on board an aircraft.

AFP Acting Superintendent Matthew Biddle said travelling on a plane should be a “safe experience for everyone”, with poor and illegal behaviour not to be tolerated.

“People should be able to travel on flights, and crew should be able to go about their workday, without the threat of intimidation or offensive behaviour from other passengers,” Acting Superintendent Biddle said.

“Travelling on an aircraft should be a safe experience for everyone, and police will continue to work with airline staff to ensure that they are.

“Police will also continue putting people before the court should they misbehave while travelling, particularly in the lead-up to the busy festive season.”

The man is set to front the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
