Person swept off rocks near Albany

A search is underway for a person swept off the rocks at Lowlands Beach - east of Albany.

Albany and Denmark sea rescues are searching waters off the beach between Albany and Denmark.

The incident happened just before 1pm.

The south coast is prone to rough seas and slippery rock conditions with authorities issuing warnings to rock fishers prior to the busy Easter long weekend which coincides with the annual salmon run.
