The City of Albany has organised a host of events for WA Seniors Week next week, headlined by two over-60s socials.

The socials will kick the week off with live music, food, drinks and dancing on Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.

The Sunday afternoon social will take place from 3-5pm at Retravision Stadium and the Monday morning social will be hosted at the Albany Bowling Club from 10am to midday.

Albany-born and raised musician Evan Ayres will perform his wide-ranging repertoire — from jazz to rock and roll — at both events.

The Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre will also host free events for seniors.

On Monday, grandparents will be invited to take part in a children’s gym session from 9.30-10.30am.

The children’s gym session costs $5.50 per child and no bookings are required.

A free Over-60s Social Sports event will be held on Tuesday from 9.30-11.30am, with participants invited to take part in table tennis, pickleball, badminton and carpet bowls.

On Tuesday afternoon, an hour-long staying safe online workshop will run from 2.30pm, with no bookings required.

Albany Public Library will host events on Monday and Thursday.

On Monday, it will screen the film My Brilliant Career from 1.30pm, and on Thursday it will host an information session about elder abuse and estate planning from 2pm.

Bookings are essential for both events.

Bookings, which can be made online, are also essential for the Over 60s Socials and Social Sports events.
