The Shire of Denmark is hosting its inaugural Australia Day Twilight Concert set to bring Berridge Park alive with local music acts, kids entertainment and food vans.

The event will start at 4pm next Wednesday with the citizenship ceremony where the new Australian residents will be officially welcomed into the Denmark community.

The ceremony will be followed by the presentation of the citizen of the year and sports person of the year awards.

Local music acts James Flynn Quartet, Jonelle Grochowski Band and Rastatrix are set to take the stage until 7pm.

The grass will be lined with food vans serving a diverse range of delicious food and beverages ranging from Thai and Laotian cuisine to donuts and ice-cream.

Alternatively, guests can pack a picnic dinner and enjoy the evening under the shady trees.

There will be plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained with a bouncy castle, arts and crafts, lawn games, face painting and a circus trick workshop.

The festival will be a zero-waste event and residents are asked to bring their own water bottles, crockery and cutlery.

Volunteers from the Denmark Plastic Reduction group will be manning a wash station and will be offering reusable picnic ware for people to borrow.

The Australia Day Twilight Concert will run from 4pm-7pm at Berridge Park on Hollings Road in Denmark on January 26.
