Susannah Carr: ‘I owe Michael Mosley a huge debt’, 7News Perth reader pays tribute to dietician friend

Michael Mosley changed my life. From the moment I watched his documentary “Eat, Fast, Live Longer” in December 2013, I knew I wanted to practise intermittent fasting. It just made sense. Over a year, I watched my blood tests change and found myself feeling healthier and sharper. When the chance came to interview him in 2016, I jumped at it — who wouldn’t want to meet the man who was working wonders for thousands of people? The man I met was gentle, kind, generous with his time, and endlessly enthusiastic about improving the health of as many people as he could find who was prepared to listen and try. He was funny and honest and loved coming to Australia, where he had many friends. Michael used himself as a Guinea pig to test his theories, his was a total commitment. He and his wife Clare made everything personal. They invested in every aspect of their quest to make people the best that they could be. They were such a united couple, and I can’t quite imagine what Clare and their children have been going through as this baffling and bizarre search played out across that tiny Greek island. There are so many questions, and maybe we’ll never know the answers. It’s too early for him to go. I, and many others, owe him a huge debt. Good health is the greatest gift, and his quest was to give that gift to as many people as possible. Michael deserved a better ending to a life of service. He will truly be missed.
