The Broncos could receive a huge boost ahead of their showdown with the unbeaten Cowboys with Adam Reynolds getting through Monday’s session and on track to play in Friday’s heavyweight bout.

The Broncos skipper missed last week’s grand final rematch due to an MCL strain but is set to make a rapid recovery as long as he gets through the next few days unscathed.

Jock Madden started against Penrith and is the obvious option to play halfback if Reynolds is ultimately ruled out.

“Reyno is a quick healer and hopefully he will be out there steering the ship around. If he’s not there, we have Jock and he will do a great job as well,” Broncos winger Jesse Arthars said.

“Reyno is our skipper and if he is playing everyone is confident but whoever fills the position we have faith in.”

While Reynolds is likely to return, the Broncos will be without superstar fullback Reece Walsh for at least the next month as he recovers from a facial fracture following a head clash with Penrith’s Taylan May.

Tristan Sailor will start at fullback on Friday night and showed last year that he is more than ready to handle the occasion.

“Tristan is a very classy player and fits in really well. Reece is obviously our main number one but Tristan does an excellent job when Reece is not available,” Arthars said.

“We are expecting his best and I am excited for him to get a crack this early in the season.

“Tristan has been playing fullback a long time. Reece does one of the best jobs in the game and I think they bounce off each other with different ideas, what’s working and what is not working.

“That is ultimately healthy for the club with two different minds coming together.”
