Country week golf at Geraldton Golf Club: Championship round in the men’s competition
More than 200 competitors took to Geraldton Golf Club for the 46th annual country week, with players flocking to the Mid West from Derby in the north to Margaret River in the south and Goldfields in the east.
In total, 205 entrants competed in the men’s division where more than 700 rounds of golf were played as well as another 50 entrants in the women’s competition playing 100 rounds.
The five-day competition was played at both Spalding and Geraldton golf clubs with the championship round on the Friday of the men’s comp being held at Geraldton where the best players from the week battled it out on the greens.
The women’s championship rounds were held over Tuesday at Geraldton and Wednesday at Spalding, giving both divisions a change of scenery over the week.
Country week co-ordinator Rob Christofferson was appreciative of both clubs for being involved and putting on a great week of competition.
“A big thank you to both clubs for allowing us to hold this iconic event that brings so many people to Geraldton,” Christofferson said.
“The work they do to showcase their respective courses ensure the continued success of the event.”
