CBC breathed new life into the battle for the Eastern Goldfields Hockey Association’s men’s A1 flag by last weekend ending Norths’ unbeaten start.

In a clash of the division’s top-two, CBC grabbed a 2-1 victory to break Norths’ 10-game winning sequence.

CBC’s record now comprises eight wins, alongside two losses and a draw.

Mines beat Pegasus, 2-0, in the other clash.

In the women’s A1 division, CBC cruised to an 11th consecutive win in an 8-0 result against YMHC-Pegasus.

Norths and Mines drew, 2-2.

Eastern Goldfields Hockey Association president Daniel Lavery said all grades would again be decided in 2024 on a three-team finals series, as opposed to a top-four.
