Up and coming Albany surfer Pemba Spargo claimed her maiden State title at the third and final round of the WA Junior Surfing Titles at the weekend, booking a spot on the WA team in the process.

Pemba broke through for an impressive win in the final of the under-14 grommet girls division at Flat Rocks in Geraldton on Sunday, which helped her capture the State title.

The 13-year-old produced a couple of clinical moves on decent waves on her way to a combined score of 15.44 points in the final to easily defeat Coral Durant (9 points), Emma Cattlin (8.9) and Albany's Holly Minter (3.73).

Pemba said the waves were perfect at Flat Rocks and she was delighted to win a State title at only her second attempt.

"I was just really happy to win," she said. "All of my hard work has paid off - it's a long way to go and not do well."

The smiling teenager will now be a part of the WA team that travels to 2015 Australian Junior Surfing Titles later in the year, joined by three fellow Great Southern surfers.

Denmark duo Emi Campbell and Lachy Ross and Albany's Evie Dupuy also made the WA team for the national titles in December.

Emi was knocked out in the quarterfinals of the final round on the weekend, but finished fourth overall in the under-18 junior girls category to secure another spot on the WA team.

Lachy was left to sweat on other results after he was knocked out in the first round of the under-18 junior boys division at the weekend.

He finished fifth overall in the State title but was relieved to learn of his place in the WA team after third-placed Josh Cattlin qualified in another division.

Evie finished fourth in the competitive under-16 cadet girls division and will make her maiden appearance at the national titles along with Pemba.

In the final of the under-16 cadet girls, Evie finished third and Albany's Lily Shepherd was fourth.
