The launch will be held at Kings Park Function Centre in Perth.
The event will show off the Great Southern’s 1800 plant species at more than 30 events across the region.
Festival co-ordinator Karen Birdseye said there would be a range of activities including wildflower shows, extreme flower arranging, open gardens, long table lunches, a bush poets’ %evening, art displays and guided tours.
“I think the region showcases botanical diversity; it’s wildflower season,” she said.
Festivities will run in the shires of Broomehill/Tambellup, Cranbrook, Gnowangerup, Jerramungup, Katanning, Kent, Kojonup and Woodanilling.
Guests can win a “Blooming Good Time with Farmer Shaun” from Channel 9’s The Farmer Wants a Wife which includes a group tour in Kojonup, picnic lunch in the paddock of Lucinda’s Everlastings, and coffee and cake at Stonemasons Distillery.
The event was supported by $80,000 funding from Tourism WA.
The Hidden Treasures Great Southern Bloom Festival runs from September 16 to October 16.
