Vandalism spree linked to school
An Albany Senior High School student and a former student have been charged over a vandalism spree at the school which caused $70,000 damage last week.
Albany police arrested and charged an 18-year-old woman who is a current student and a 17-year-old girl last Friday after reviewing CCTV from the school and receiving assistance from the public.
The two and a 17-year-old boy are accused of breaking into the school last Monday night and flooding six classrooms.
Police say the offenders forced the hoses from two fire hydrants into the classrooms through windows. The water from the flooded classrooms on the top veranda seeped below into the school’s administration area.
All three have been charged with criminal damage and aggravated burglary.
They are to appear in court at a later date.
The damage bill stands at $70,000.
