Traffic police have slammed the conduct of a 24-year-old English tourist who gave little excuse for allegedly travelling 65km/h over the speed limit in Albany last week.

Police say it was “fortunate” officers detected her on South Coast Highway in King River allegedly travelling 145km/h in an 80km/h zone on Monday afternoon which resulted in her being charged with reckless driving.

The woman’s Hyundai hatchback was seized for 28 days as a result and she was bailed to appear in Albany Magistrate’s Court next month.
