Welshman has recently been selected as a finalist to perform at the SOTA Music Festival in Perth on Monday, June 6 at Elizabeth Quay alongside the likes of Morgan Bain, San Cisco, Koi Child and many more.

Welshman said one of his mother’s friends had told him about the competition in which finalists got the opportunity to perform at the festival.

“I sent in an original song of mine and a cover to them and I got an email a few weeks later saying that I would be performing, which I am really excited for,” he said.

“I haven’t played at a festival before and this was the first time I’ve tried to play at this one, so it felt really nice to be accepted as one of the finalists to be able to play on the stage.”

Welshman told theAdvertiser he was keen for the festival and it would be an awesome experience.

“I’ve actually opened for one of the acts before, so it will be good to go and watch them again,” he said.

“The whole festival scene is quite new to me and the closest I’ve been to playing a festival would’ve been the Denmark arts markets, which I think I’ll be playing again in December.”

After his recent The Voice audition, Welshman said the festival performance would in a way be even bigger for him.

“The Voice was awesome, but I’m going to feel a lot more comfortable with my guitar, singing my own songs at a festival and I will feel a lot more at home than I was on the Voice stage,” he said.

Next for this talented Ed Sheeran-inspired musician is playing to more and more people as he is working on his album.

“I am putting a lot of myself into this album and all my songs are quite personal and all about real experiences,” he said.

“I’m just going to be working hard towards everything and hope that it works out for the best.”
