For those not based in Albany, there will be services throughout the Great Southern on Anzac Day.

In Denmark, the dawn service will be held at the War Memorial at 5.40am followed by a gunfire breakfast.

A march will begin at 10.30am with an address from Denmark RSL president Ian Mullholland.

The service will include performances by the Denmark Senior High School concert band and an address by retired Brigadier Geoff Hand, and 2015 Denmark RSL Youth Achievement Award winner Emily Hodan.

Mr Mullholland said it was an important day throughout Australia.

“It’s extremely important to recognise as a commemoration for all servicemen and women that have served Australia in any capacity,” he said.

Mr Mullholland said he expected a solid turnout at the Denmark service.

“It is usually well attended by the local community and invited guests and we expect a good turnout this year,” he said.

The Mt Barker service will comprise a march starting at the library carpark in Lowood Road at 10.30am.

The march will be led by riders from the 10th Light Horse Association, with the Albany Pipe Band and flagbearers from local Scouts and Guides to follow.

A salute will be taken by Shire of Plantagenet president Ken Clements, who will share the podium with World War II veteran Con Parsons.

Then there will be a short commemorative ceremony and wreath laying at the cenotaph on Memorial Drive.

A service of remembrance will then take place at the District Hall, followed by a community morning tea at the bowls and sporting club on Lowood Road.

The Peaceful Bay dawn service will begin at 6am at the war memorial, with a gunfire breakfast afterwards at the RSL shed.

In Walpole, there will be a march starting at 10.50am at the recreation centre which will finish at the war memorial.

A service will take place at the memorial at 11am.
