Top side Polonia notched their sixth straight win of the Great Southern Soccer Association men's mixed competition, downing Caledonians in a hard-fought round 7 contest at North Road on Sunday afternoon.

After five impressive wins in as many rounds, Polonia were able to go a goal ahead in the first half and then doubled their advantage in the second 45 minutes to walk away with a 2-0 result.

Rhett Marwick and John Turner both found the back of the net for Polonia, who remain undefeated with 18 points.

In earlier round 7 fixtures last Tuesday night, Polonia A also remained unbeaten after producing a dominant second half against Royals.

Polonia A led 2-1 at half-time, but were able to slam home seven goals in the last half as they went on to record their sixth win, 9-2.

Geoffrey Bosh and Jake Ferrell were the stars, each netting a hat-trick, while Alex Torley, Josh Kaighin and Darcey Ovens also found the back of the net.

Royals' goals came from Jae Torley and Trevor Pocock.

Goals from Scott Davidson and Mark Chambers guided Cross Keys United to a 2-1 result over Old Boys, Albany-Bayswater A finished 3-0 winners over The Vets and the first draw of the season was played out between Albany-Bayswater B and PR United, who were locked at 3-3 on the final whistle.

In the women's division 1 competition, Rovers climbed to second on the ladder with a 5-1 victory over Polonia on Friday night.

Tianna Korthuis scored twice and was joined on the score sheet by fellow Rovers Gabrielle White, Lareena Woods and Elena Di Bonaventura.

A hat-trick to Leah Dunwoodie helped Caledonian Red defeat Phoenix 9-0 last Friday, while the clash between Albany-Bayswater and Royals was postponed.

In the women's division 2 action on Friday night, Polonia White beat Polonia Red 3-2, Royals prevailed 5-1 over Great Southern Grammar and Denmark held off Mt Barker United 3-2.
