Albany World of Cars will change ownership today after nearly a decade with Malcolm Adamson at the helm.

The Adamson family moved to Albany in 2007 from Queensland after the business was purchased and set to work promoting and selling the vast array of cars sold at Albany’s largest car dealership.

Mr Adamson was the managing director and had vast experience in South Africa and across Australia in the car industry.

The operational side of the business has been run by Malcolm’s son, Dale Adamson, who came to Albany as a sales executive and worked closely with his father to gain the experience required to become the company’s general manager, he will remain the general manager following the change of ownership.

During his time as general manager, Mr Adamson has won a host of awards including five years as Volkswagen Dealer of the Year, three years as Hyundai Rural Dealer of the Year and Landrover Dealer of the Year.

The company also won the Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s customer service award and has claimed numerous sales awards.

As the ownership is passed on to Toni Hunter, ex-managing director Mr Adamson said he had mixed emotions.

“We are sad in many ways to be moving on, but happy that Toni Hunter will be taking over,” he said.

“With her strengths and knowledge, we know that the business will grow from strength to strength under her leadership,”

“We wish her every success and happiness and welcome her and her family to Albany.”
