North Albany celebrated captain Graham Ross’ 150th game in style, recording a 71-point victory against Albany on Sunday afternoon at Collingwood Park.

The Kangas were on the front foot from the outset and despite some resistance from the Sharks in the third quarter were able to come away with a 15.14 (104) to 4.9 (33) result.

The Kangas’ defence limited the Sharks to two scoring shots in the first half as they skipped out to a six-goal lead by half-time, with Jake Becroft and Daniel Parker hitting the scoreboard.

The Sharks came out after the main break with some life and managed to kick three goals to four in the third term; however, the Kangas were able to settle in the last quarter and finished off strongly with six goals to notch their 10th win for the season.

In a fitting end to the game, Ross marked and goaled after the final siren and was swarmed by teammates who then chaired the club stalwart off the ground.

Kangas’ half-back Alec Haskins created countless attacks with slick ball movement and midfielders Addison Dew and Luke Cameron found plenty of ball.

The Sharks were served well by midfielder Jack Banks while Rick Wallis and Etienne Vorster were solid throughout the game.

Kangas coach Craig Dew was full of praise for another spirited effort from the Sharks who continue to show improvement as the season wears on.

“They have improved so much we’re really impressed with them, just their tackle pressure and how hard they are at the footy,” he said

“I thought our tackle pressure was good and I was pleased that we tried to implement our game plan as much as we could in those conditions.”

Sharks coach James Eaton was again pleased with his team’s effort and attack on the ball.
