Jarman's brave journey

ELLE FARCICAlbany Advertiser

Albany boy Jarman Maher, 5, is one brave little lad.

Picture by Laurie Benson: Senior ranger Rob Forster presents Jarman Maher with a Junior Ranger Bravery Award.

In January this year he was viciously attacked by a Staffordshire terrier-cross out the front of his home.

His face was mauled and he was left with a severe leg wound.

Eight operations later and Jarman is returning to his happy-self, but it is still going to be a long road to recovery.

His courage was awarded by City of Albany Mayor Milton Evans and senior ranger Rob Forster on Tuesday, when they presented him with a Junior Ranger Bravery Award.

“It is presented to you because of the bravery you have shown and the bravery you will need to show to get through the healing process,” Mr Forster said.

Jarman is expected to undergo plastic surgery on his face in December.
