Film crew hit town

It was lights, camera and action for Albany on the weekend, when travel services company Ausglobal Travel hit town to film the city in the lead up to its 2015 Anzac commemorative cruise.

The Gallipoli Cruise will retrace the passage of the Anzacs to Gallipoli, stopping in Albany on March 28, 2015.

Picture: Shane Hodges and Neil Kearney did some filming in Albany over the weekend to give Gallipoli Cruise passengers a taste of what they would be seeing when they stopped over in Albany in 2015.

Footage showcasing Albany’s main attractions will be made available to passengers in the lead up to the cruise.

Ausglobal Travel managing director Shane Hodges said because the cruise was still four years away he hoped the footage would maintain the passenger’s interest and excitement.

“We want to be able to show passengers where the port is and the significant places they are going to be seeing when they are in Albany,” he said.

“Albany plays a big part in the Anzac story and we want to give our clients a taste of some %of the sites they will be seeing.”

The company began taking bookings for the cruise late last year and Mr Hodges said it was already close to being booked out.
