Dressing up for Proudie

Don't be worried if you see men and women in stunning red dresses walking around town tomorrow – it’s all for a good cause.

The Albany Hash House Harriers will take to the streets in a Red Dress Run to raise money for the Proudies Foundation.

Albany football star Warrick Proudlove was injured last year in a car accident and is in a care facility.

Hash House Harrier Heather Carter said each year the running and walking group, which is part of an international network, raises money for a charity.

Proudies Foundation co-founder Andrew McGovern said Warrick was in a care facility in Perth where he had treatment physiotherapy daily.

“His condition hasn’t changed much, he’s had a minimal response,” he said.

“Although, there have been one or two signs of communication, which is fantastic.”

Mr McGovern said he encouraged any community members to come down to the fundraiser.

He said men did not have to wear red dresses and could get away with other types of red clothes.

“It’s great that an international organisation is helping out Proudies,” he said.

The Red Dress run will take place on January 28.

The group will meet at Lawley Park at 10:30am and then walk through town.
