Disruption for Optus users
Optus users experienced disruptions on Monday because of a mobile transmission issue.
According to an Optus spokeswoman, some 3G voice and data services in Albany, unrelated to the large Anzac centenary crowds, were disrupted.
“Technicians who were on site to support the Anzac centenary commemoration events were able to resolve the issue quickly,” the Optus spokeswoman said.
“Optus apologises to affected customers.”
The spokeswoman said in anticipation of the large number of visitors expected in Albany for the commemoration last weekend, Optus engineers had prioritised voice and SMS services for a better customer experience.
They also installed a portable satellite cell to provide extra mobile network coverage.
She said feedback from customers who attended the weekend’s events was positive.
