Councillor recuperating after scare

KEIR TUNBRIDGEAlbany Advertiser

An Albany City Councillor who had a health scare and was taken to hospital during last night’s council meeting is back at home recuperating.

Cr Chris Holden sparked concern last night when he suddenly left the council chambers and was taken to hospital after suffering chills and uncontrollable shivering.

Speaking from his home this morning Cr Holden said he was feeling much better.

“They said it was a virus,” he said.

“I was a bit worried, I was glad to get up to the hospital and have someone take a look.”

Cr Holden said he had been diagnosed with Ross River virus about four weeks ago, but did not believe last night’s episode was related.

“It was something out of nowhere, it should just be a one off,” he said.
