Builder gets prestigious recognition
Local builder Ironmonger Building Company has continued its impressive run at the Housing Industry Association Great Southern Regional Awards.
The company took out the renovation/addition project of the year for 2016 earlier this month.
IBC has featured heavily in the HIA Awards for more than a decade and won Great Southern home of the year in 2013.
The award-winning project is in Bayonet Head, and IBC director Gary Ironmonger said the inspiration behind the renovation was centred on the views.
“This classic bungalow was not quite meeting its owner’s requirements,” he said
“It’s all about the views — it was definitely client-driven, they had a very specific thing in mind from the design point of view.”
Mr Ironmonger said the upgrade provided a host of features.
“Stunning Oyster Harbour views to the rear of the home centralised the focus of this renovation project that gave a brand- new look for the inhabitants,” he said. “This is now a spacious and warm contemporary home that maximises its location and provides the owners with a fabulous entertaining space, either indoors or out, regardless of the weather.”
Mr Ironmonger put the continued success of IBC down to his company’s personal approach to each job.
“It’s about being able to have a cup of coffee with your clients a year after it’s finished, it’s meant to be a wonderful experience building or renovating a home,” he said.
“It’s not meant to be a drama and that’s what it’s about for us — if it’s anything else, then you’ve picked the wrong builder.”
