The Military Brotherhood motorcycle club wet their whistles at the Cuballing Hotel last week, quenching their hard-earned thirst after hitting the half-way mark of their cross-country bike ride from Brisbane in the name of Legacy.

The motorcycle club is made up of returned servicemen and took to the road to raise $25,000 for the armed services charity.

Rider Jason McNulty said choosing to support Legacy was a no-brainer as a former soldier.

“For ex-military there is no better charity to support,” he said.

The four-week round saw the riders stop at tiny towns in each State they visited and said they enjoyed meeting the locals.

“We had one couple follow us out of Kojonup to donate some money to us when we finally stopped,” rider Joe Kocka said.

“The positive spirit for donations that has come from people has been great, but we could always go for a bit more.”

After Cuballing half-way mark, the ride will continue to Kalgoorlie before heading back to Brisbane.

“We’ve had a great time and it’s been both satisfying and sad to see all the tiny towns along the way that are forgotten,” Kocka said.
