Denmark-Walpole Football Club will be doing their bit for breast cancer research as part of Purple Bra Day round in the Great Southern Football League next Saturday.

Purple Bra Day is this Friday and aims to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer with participants typically wearing purple bras on the outside of their clothing.

DWFC will be donating a percentage of the gate takings from their round 9 fixture against Railways along with a raffle and a best fitting bra competition.

Club president Glen Burton said it was an important thing to recognise

“It’s important for any form of cancer, this type affects so many people — there isn’t one age group it’s a wide range,” he said

“People need to be aware that there are processes you can go through — don’t be too proud about asking questions,”

Last year the club also took part with members of the coaching staff sporting the bras throughout the day.
