Bowlers make it two in a row

The Lower Great Southern League took out the Southern Zone Inter League Round Robin held at the Albany Bowling Club held between earlier this month.

The LGSL came out winners in four of their five matches over the 2.5 days of competition to be comprehensive winners.

Central Stirling League, based through Gnowangerup, finished second, while the Great Southern League coming from Katanning and Wagin placed third.

Dave Bojcon, Roy Nicholls, Kevin Henderson, Rick Rodgers, Don King, Darren Kelson, John Wright, David Klinberg, Jim Robertson, Nick Burgess, Richard Plant, Wayne Cooper, Kym Jones, Kevin MacGregor, Greg Cooper and Phil Lee were the LGSL contingent to take out the title.

Tournament director Kevin Williams said the weekend provided exciting bowls for all.

“This is the second win in a row for the Lower Great Southern League and they were very happy to take out the prize,” he said.

Zone president Nick Hosking congratulated the local league and Albany Bowling Club for a well-run carnival at the presentation ceremony.
