Australia Day: What's on in Albany?

Albany Advertiser

It’s time to whip out your green and gold war paint for the day Australia comes together to warble Advance Australia Fair.

The City of Albany’s Australia Day Family Fun Day and Fireworks Spectacular will kick off at the Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre from 3pm, with children – and the young at heart – set to be kept busy with free kids’ rides, workshops and amusements plus free entry to waterslide, inflatable water playground and rock climbing activities.

The afternoon will be offset with family-friendly entertainment by Junk Funktion, Southern Edge Arts, Geoff Waldeck and local band Minute 36, along with markets and food stalls.

Woolworths Australia Day ambassador, former footballer Larry Kickett, will also attend.

Families attending are encouraged to dress up in the spirit of the day, with a special competition for “best dressed Aussie” and “best dressed Esky”.
