Albany Racing Club’s Percy Spencer Racecourse has today been given the green light to be raced on after months of issues relating to the track surface.

Racing and Wagering WA stewards today inspected the Percy Spencer Racecourse and confirmed it is safe to race on at the clubs next scheduled meeting on Friday, December 9.

The ARC transferred their first two meetings this season to the Mt Barker Turf Club after issues stemming from off-season track renovations.

Poor growth in large sections of the track delayed its progress and some areas were repaired with new turf.

Albany was due to start racing on October 30 and their second fixture will be held in Mt Barker this Thursday but the track surface is now officially ticked off.

The news is a big relief for the club ahead of their biggest financial meeting of the season on Boxing Day, December 26.
