Albany pair Samara Williams and Hannah Felton have helped WA win a game at the inaugural Women's Australian Country Cricket Championships in Mt Gambier, South Australia, which wrapped up on Monday.

WA finished fifth in the standings after victory in one of their five round-robin matches, which came against Northern Territory in their opening Twenty20 game last Thursday.

Northern Territory batted first and the Albany pair opened the bowling, with Williams snaring the first breakthrough and finishing with figures of 1-17 from her four overs.

Felton also bowled her allotted four overs to return 0-22 as she helped WA restrict their opponents to 6-92.

In the run chase, Williams led the way for WA at the top of the order as the talented right- hander made 23 runs from 33 balls to guide her side to victory.

Williams eventually fell with the scores level, but her side went on to win by four wickets.

Later that day, WA went down to Victoria by seven wickets after they easily chased down 71 for victory.

Williams made only one run with the bat and took 0-14 from two overs, while Felton's only over went for 11 runs.

On Friday, WA were thrashed by eventual champions East Asia Pacific, who made 1-116 batting first, with Felton the wicket- taker, bowling Mai Yanagida for 16 to claim 1-29 from three overs.

Williams bowled four overs for 0-22, and made 11 from10 balls with the bat as WA made 6-77.

Later that day, Queensland notched a comfortable eight-wicket win over WA, with Williams making a duck and taking 1-28 from her four overs, while Felton was not used.

Williams made five and Felton was run out for one in her first bat of the tournament on Saturday as WA posted 9-89 against South Australia, who made light work of the total to win by 10 wickets.

Williams took 0-18 from two and Felton 0-5.

On Sunday in their replay against Northern Territory, Felton bowled one over for 10 runs and was not required with the ball, while Williams sat out the six-wicket loss.
